What are the side effects of my cholesterol medication?

It’s common for patients to experience side effects as their bodies adapt to medication.

Below is a list of some of the most common side effects. For a complete list, visit the medication’s website for further information or refer to the side effects listed with your medication. If you have any concerns about side effects, consult your clinician.

Repatha

The most common side effects of REPATHA include:

  • runny nose

  • sore throat

  • symptoms of the common cold, flu or flu-like symptoms

  • back pain
    high blood sugar levels (diabetes)

  • redness, pain, or bruising at the injection site.

Serious Allergic Reactions. Some people taking Repatha have had serious allergic reactions.

Stop taking Repatha and contact your clinician or seek emergency medical help right away if you have any of these symptoms:

  • trouble breathing or swallowing

  • raised bumps (hives)

  • rash, or itching

  • swelling of the face, lips, tongue, throat or arms

Lerochol

The most common side effects of Lerochol include:

  • redness, itching, swelling, pain, bruising or tenderness at the injection site

  • runny or stuffy nose, sore throat (nasopharyngitis)

  • diarrhea

  • nausea

  • swelling in arms, hands, legs, or feet (peripheral edema)
